The Story of a Walk On

Dave Patzwald was a true walk-on for the Stanford University basketball team from 1982-1985. A coaching change led to open tryouts and Dave was selected through that process. He then remained on the team for three years. He never received a scholarship, played in just a few games, and even suffered a major injury, but the overall experience as a student-athlete was exceptionally valuable. 

 

After graduation, he pursued a successful corporate career, then launched several entrepreneurial ventures. However, the mindset of the “walk-on” never left him and provided the extra determination and motivation whenever things got challenging.
 

Later in life, after a series of somewhat comical adventures in dating, he thought about making a movie. With the help 


Walk On Films is dedicated to sharing the voice of the hard-working person “at the end of the bench.”

True life is always more fascinating than fiction.
